Yuliana and her thirteen year old daughter Harmony were one night away from sleeping on the streets of Sacramento. They were able to find safety at Volunteers of America's Family Shelter. There they were connected to a resources and a community to help them overcome a troubling past. This is based on a letter Yuliana wrote to Harmony the first month they were living in the shelter.  ​
